Finally the Imo state house of assembly has decided to look into the way and manner the state governor has been squandering the resources of the state. It took 18 couragious members to bring the motion to the floor of the house. The speaker has appointed a five man commitee to acertain the validity of their claim that the governor has embessled billions of naira. Specifically how much money exchanged hands during the process of his over hipped carpet crossing and other issues involving the Okigwe water works contract.
All eyes are going to be focused on the house to see if they are going to be bought over as usual or if the members are for once going to grow some balls and do the people's work. It is bad enough that the state is bankrupt according to published reports with the state unable to meet h its finanacial resposibilities to her employees and contractors. Chances are that if this commitee does its work and thoroghly too the people of the state will for ever remain greatful to them. We have had two years of an illegimate administration that has been run by tugs and misfits.
On a different note, the state house should introduce a motion to impeach both the governor and his deputy for abandoning the party that brougt them to power. A man who has no principle should have no business being in the state house. He has shown what he really is .. an oppotunist. The wish of this commentator is that the commitee so appointed to investigate the governor should not let it be a white wash but for once stand up for those who sent them to Owerri in the first place. For once let it be known that it took the courage of a few good men to turn this state around. History will not be kind to you if you fail your people yet again.
