RE Ohakim Seeks Synergy with NNPC On Imo Greenfield Refinery
He is at it again, the governor of Imo State. Last week he went knocking at the offices of the GMD of NNPC Mr. Austin Oniwon seeking corporation between the state and NNPC. For the uninformed this would seem like he is doing something in the name of the state but for some critical observers, this is a master stroke perfected for the electioneering campaign. Matters arising: What has he done for the state in the past three years? Why now is he talking about refinery which he mentioned in passing a couple of years ago?
The answer may not be far fetched. He is seeking a second term. He has already masted a lot of wealth with which he can execute his re-election campaign any time but the problem now is that many people need to be paid off if he is going to get the ticket from PDP. The clouds are beginning to gather around him. He understands that he has not delivered on any of his promises as a result buy votes is the only option left and that is if he ever gets the PDP ticket. I am glad that the good people of Imo State will not let this may pull a wool over their eyes a second time. This is another design in his book of tricks to finally leave the state in a state of penury should he fail to get the ticket from his party. This is to insure that he will have enough wealth for the rest of his life given the amount he spent on the judges that handled his case at the appeal court. Folks he has to replenish his coffers.
