May judges who are not corrupt in Imo state stand up and be counted

Now that the appeals court in Owerri has decided to hear the election case that has lasted almost fours years, the hope of every Imo citizen and indeed every Nigerian is that finally justice will be done. Justice delayed is justice denied. Imo people deserve to know that their vote did count when they went to the polls to vote for a candidate of their choice. We can not allow our selves to return to the days the defunct NCNC, AG or NPC when it was a mere exercise in futility for people to go and vote knowing fully well that their vote did not mean a damn thing.

The hope of this writer is that "Ghana must go" bags will not be developing legs and walking at night to the residences of the members of the election tribunal. In the first go round so much money moved around and out of the state that it helped ruin the state. There is this saying that "thirty days is for the thief and one day is for the owner of the house". We will have nothing less than transparency, leaving no one in doubt as to if justice has been down or not. With the pronouncement of the supreme court, the way has now been paved for the Imo state election tribunal to deliver to the people of Imo state the justice that has eluded them for four years now.

This is the only way to restore the people's faith in our judicial system in Imo state where a particular female judge has taken it upon her self to deliberately rubbish the third estate of the rim. Such rulings that have made a laughing stock of our justice system must not be allowed to rear its ugly head again. Never will we the people allow a few people to constitute themselves into thin gods that hold the rest of us hostage. We can no longer be passers by in our mother land and let a few select special criminals determine not only our fate but also the future of our children and grand children, we the people must be on guard, we must keep a watchful eye on our young democracy else we will wake up one day only to discover that our collective birth rights have been sold. We have already endured horrible experiences this past three ands a half years. There is bound to be light at the end of the tunnel so with one voice let us proclaim that the era of misadventure with the people's hopes and aspirations are over. we should be ready to use our guns, bows and arrows even our own blood to protect that which is our own God's given right. The right of self determination. The right to be respected in our our individualism and above all to protect our fundamental human right that is guaranteed and enshrined in the UN charter.
