For almost three and a half years the citizens of Imo State Nigeria have endured the agony of defeat, the humiliation and degradation of their person in the hands of a dupe called Ikedi Ohakim the purported chief executive of the state. From the time he stole the people's mandate till this day good governance has eluded that state. As if that was not punishment enough having him at the helm, members of the both the state house of assembly and the judiciary who are supposed to be the servants of the people have all conspired to perpetrate the worst kind of inhuman treatment ever known to man... the loss of dignity and self worth.
Many well meaning citizens of the state have been shut up through one trumped up charge or another to silence them. Those who ventured to question him have either been kidnapped or mysteriously disappeared. If the federal government is serious about combating crime in the south east one sure way of doing it is by clamping down on these governors who now see themselves as mightier than God. I used to think that Achike Udenwa was the worst governor that Imo State has ever produced, now I know that compared to what we have , he was a saint.
I have constantly asked the government to produce one evidence of any concrete thing that it has done for the people since assuming office, and till date it has not responded. The state house of assemble over sight committee on federal allocations have been asleep at the switch. The question that most of us independent observers have been asking is why Imo State? Does it mean that none of our elected officials has the balls to say we have had enough? When will the time be right for the people of Imo to pick up their arms and chase this idiot out of Owerri?
The final straw is the purported election of last Saturday where only those he selected passed the smell taste. Is it not time for women of the state to rise up butt naked and match through our towns and cities to protest the injustice and bad governance by this man from Mbano since our men folks have lost their manhood? If this problem continues unabated, those of us outside the country will no longer have a place that we can call home. The federal government should declare a state of emergency in Imo State on two main grounds, corruption none performance. All the so called traditional rulers and fathers of the state should bury their heads in shame as they have not only failed us they have also humiliated their ancestral stools. EFCC should state by examining the local government allcations from the federation account as to know who got what and where all the funds went before the newlt selected chairmen begin to once again cook the books to protect the governor.
